Facilitating an Annual Sustainable Agriculture Strategy
Challenge
PepsiCo at its core is an agriculture company that relies on having a secure supply of more than 30 crops and ingredients from 60+ countries. The Sustainable Agriculture Office at PepsiCo is committed to helping farmers grow food in a way that revitalizes the earth and supports their livelihoods. By prioritizing a sustainable food system, PepsiCo is helping to mitigate environmental and social risks, while also preserving natural resources for future generations.
The 30-person Sustainable Agriculture team is based around the globe and works with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to address a range of salient issues, from labor rights to gender inclusion, to soil health, to water usage. Aligning priorities each year across the globe and the company requires both creativity and discipline.
Implementation
We structured and facilitated a week-long offsite retreat for the PepsiCo Sustainable Agriculture team. The workshop offered daily sessions that explored key technical areas (such as soil health), industry trends, internal collaboration, and team building.
Impact
Workshop participants reported that the annual retreat was the highlight of the year and helped them work better together, align across the group and the company, and positively impact farmers.
