"Our work is really complex. The problem was, how are we going to pull everything together in a way that is digestible for our stakeholders? You [GIC] articulated it really well. We now have a tool we can iterate on.”

- Rudolf Badenhorst, Senior Director, PepsiCo Global Agriculture Office.

Connecting Global Agriculture Work to Measurable Impact

Challenge

PepsiCo's Global Ag Office (GAO) builds critical capabilities, ensures future growth and creates value for PepsiCo’s business and their farmers around the world.  The GAO wanted a compelling way to demonstrate the impact of their global, systems-level approach to agriculture.   They also wanted to clearly communicate the value of their strategic initiatives to internal stakeholders.

Implementation

Global Impact Collective partnered with the GAO to develop a framework and narrative report that clearly communicates the GAO’s impact. We reviewed existing KPIs, digital tool metrics, and available data, and worked closely with leadership to define a framework for demonstrating the value of strategic initiatives.

We identified a small set of high-impact initiatives and supporting stories through working sessions and targeted stakeholder conversations. These inputs were synthesized into a draft methodology and value framework, which we tested and refined through two facilitated virtual workshops with GAO leaders.

Impact

The work resulted in a shared impact framework and report that GAO leaders can use to consistently explain how their work delivers value across productivity, cost avoidance, and resilience. It clarified how strategic initiatives connect to KPIs and business outcomes. The framework and report also provide a foundation GAO that can build on as new initiatives are added.
