Strategic Account Manager
Full-Time | Remote (preference for Pacific Northwest)
The Opportunity
We're seeking an entrepreneurial Strategic Account Manager to join us at a pivotal growth stage. This is a rare opportunity for a professional with 5-7 years of sales experience, who thrives on building relationships from the ground up and converting them into long-term partnerships. You'll be instrumental in expanding our client base, driving revenue growth, and shaping the future of our organization.
This is a fulltime, salaried role with significant commission potential and a competitive benefits package, including healthcare, 401K, and flexibility. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who takes initiative and can drive business forward with minimal oversight, bringing both patience for long sales cycles and the discipline to close deals as quickly as possible while maintaining a robust, well-qualified pipeline.
What You'll Do
Strategic Relationship Building: Identify, cultivate, and close new business opportunities with companies, foundations, family offices, and NGOs working across food and beverage, food service, consumer packaged goods (CPG), agriculture, fisheries, and related sectors. You'll extend our reach to new markets while demonstrating patience and persistence in building trust with prospects.
Consultative Selling: Listen deeply to client needs and thoughtfully adapt our offerings to deliver maximum value. Engage and partner with C-suite executives, sustainability leaders, and decision-makers to understand their challenges and position our solutions. Cultivate long-term relationships with key decision-makers in sustainability, supply chain, and corporate responsibility functions.
Market Intelligence: Stay current on sustainability trends, regulatory developments, and emerging client needs in food systems, climate, and conservation. Use this intelligence to open doors with prospective clients and bring insights back to inform service development and thought leadership strategy.
Collaborative Approach: Work seamlessly with our team to develop proposals that leverage the company’s expertise. Bring technical experts into conversations at the right moments to demonstrate depth and credibility.
Pipeline Management: Maintain a healthy, well-qualified pipeline with clear stages and realistic close probabilities. Track activities, conversations, and follow-ups systematically. Provide accurate pipeline management and revenue forecasting to support business planning with clear, concise communications about prospects.
Brand Ambassador: Serve as an ambassador for Global Impact Collective's vision and values in the marketplace, representing our mission and approach with integrity.
Who You Are
Essential Qualifications:
Experience: 5-7 years of proven sales success, with demonstrated results in business/revenue development for a consulting or other services business.
Building networks: The ability to leverage or build networks within one or more of the following: food and beverage companies, food service, consumer packaged product brands, fisheries/aquaculture, foundations, family offices, or major nonprofit organizations working in food systems.
Track record of closing significant deals: Consistent history of securing 5-6-figure+ contracts.
Executive presence: Confidence and credibility engaging with senior leaders and decision-makers.
Consultative approach: Natural ability to listen, ask insightful questions, and tailor solutions to client needs.
CRM Expertise: Experience working with pipeline tracker tools and CRM technology; HubSpot experience strongly preferred.
Mission alignment: Genuine passion for sustainable food systems and our vision for systemic change using a human-centered approach.
Personal Attributes:
Entrepreneurial spirit: A self-starter excited by the opportunity to build and grow an early-stage organization.
Adaptability: Comfortable with ambiguity and able to pivot as we learn and evolve. Thrives in a small, entrepreneurial, majority-women environment where everyone wears multiple hats.
Process-oriented: Comfortable with the reality that some quarters will be lean while building toward bigger wins. Maintains an observable cadence that steadily moves the organization forward.
Integrity: Approaches sales with transparency, honesty, and alignment to our values, never overpromising or misrepresenting capabilities.
Self-motivation: Thrives in an autonomous environment with the discipline to drive your own success.
Sense of humor: Brings levity and perspective to the work.
